Hi all,

A very knowledgeable orchidist corrected a name I'd found on the Kew World
Checklist. I recently photographed a plant with the label M. fasciata, but
when I researched the name on the Checklist, Kew says that M. fasciata is a
synonym of M. heteroptera, so that's what I labeled the plant on my site. I
was told this was incorrect, with a detailed description of why these two
species were completely different.

I don't have easy access to Luer's Icones to dig further. Is anyone out
there able to add anything to this discussion? I feel stuck betweeen a rock
and a hard place. =)

Thanks,

-Eric in SF
