It is refreshing to have someone from Holland here and also someone who knows
what they are talking about. As you say, the canny Dutch growers don't do
something unless they can see a return on their investment. Certainly they
currently grow better orchids than anyone in the USA, myself included, but I
follow them closely and learn more each visit. Will be in your country for the
fifth time this year in early December and although it is not a very congenial
weather time of year, it is always fascinating to see what high quality plants
and flowers the Dutch growers are putting out, albeit with the usual assistance
of supplementary lighting. And the innovative way that your marketers and
designers use flowers and plants could give a few of the US trade a bit of an
eye-opener.
