The Singapore Orchid Show opened today (Saturday 16th December) at
Suntec City (Convention Centre, 4th Floor) and will remain open until
26th December. The floral display is massive in scale, with roughly
equal emphasis on grouped arrangements (some of which contain
extremely high-quality plants), individual plants (mostly hybrids) and
cut-flowers. Orchid Societies throughout the region have contributed
with large and varied displays. Other highlights are the sales area,
an educational zone, orchid-Ikebana, watching the competitors creating
their entries for an International flower-arranging contest, and fun
activities for kids.

And that is just the 4th floor ... the rest of the Singapore Garden
Festival occupies the whole of the Convention Centre 6th floor. I
haven't had time to go upstairs and see it, but people are saying it
is fantastic. Everyone says the "Prison Garden" is a must-see.

If you're in Singapore, or just stopping-over at Changi for a few
hours, why not come and see for yourself ?
