First of all to all that have answered my request of
information on Cattleya Peregrine and the research article,
THANKS. Your generosity has been overwhelming specially
given the time of year and given the relative weirdness of
my request.
Since this is the place where people save images and
illustrations of everything orchidaceous, I need to
supplement the Cattleya Peregrine picture with a picture
of the other Cattleya mossiae natural hybrid Cattleya
xgravesiana (Cattleya Gravesiana) Does any one have one
that can be used. that can share it?

So after the thought and the request, comes the question:
What does it take for you ,as knowledgeable orchidists,
to call a non-primary ( a "complex" hybrid) a "Species
X hybrid " ? Let me posit the question in the perspective
of Cattleya mossiae:

What would make you call a non primary hybrid (a "complex
hybrid”) a Cattleya mossiae hybrid? Does the mere presence
of Cattleya mossiae in the pedigree of a hybrid [regardless
of how high in the generation of ascendants] qualify that
hybrid to be considered a Cattleya mossiae hybrid? Most
important, Why? or Why not?
I hope not to disturb the usual peace and
tranquility of this place but your answers and opinions are
valuable.
Ah, what the heck: my mom is in the kitchen, the glorious
smells that hold the promise of another great holiday memory
are dancing in the air and I feel giddy so, another
question:

Is it Cattleya mossiae Hook. or , is it Cattleya
mossiae C. Parker ex Hook.?
 Pax
 José
