Just for the record; my daughter lives in HK and although there have been (intermittent?) problems emailing to and receiving from the UK, the situation is rapidly improving (sent and received emails today). Telephone lines seem unaffected (we had a call telling us about the 'quake!) I wonder what Skype uses! Best wishes for 2007 everyone John Stanley
