The name Nephelaphyllum cristatum has been used twice. The Gagnepain
version should be labelled Nephelaphyllum tenuiflorum Blume.

Nephelaphyllum cristatum Rolfe is actually a Tainia species, now known
as Tainia cristata (Rolfe) Gagnep.

You should be able to distinguish between the two quite easily, just
from looking at the plants. The Nephelaphyllum has 4-5 cm long narrow
spindle-shaped pseudobulbs set well apart on a creeping rhizome. The
Tainia has much longer stems, and leaves long slender pedicels. Your
description "somewhat leggy looking seedlings" suggests the Tainia,
not the Nephelaphyllum.
