"Rick A. Barry" quote:

>How many gametes contain all the necessary genetic material to produce a
>viable organism if only converted to a diploid? It seems that the recipe would
>often lack some key ingredients.

Like the number of psychologists that it takes to change a light bulb: one,
but it really has to want to change. One gamete has all that it takes if you
can induce it to duplicate its genetic material. Note that this process only
'makes' females (two X chromosomes, XX), as the duplicate Y genotype is not
normally viable.

>I have been nurded several times in my life, but until I was exposed to orchid
>culture I always managed a full recovery.

Is biotechnology bringing a new meaning to the term 'green fingers'?
