When it came to automating my new greenhouse, I took the easy way out--I
purchased a Wadsworth EnviroStep controller. I blanched at the price,
but it had a lot of features that I wanted, and since the greenhouse was
being built hundreds of miles away from where I was then living, the
simplicity was worth a lot to me. This controller allows me to control
the interactions between the vent, the KoolCel evaporative cooler, and
the exhaust fan, as well as simpler things such as turning the heat on
and off. It also supports external sensors, but the only one I have (it
comes with the base unit) is for temperature, and I find that I don't
use that feature--it's enough for me to just limit the size of the vent
steps as the vent opens. I've had it for two years. and I am glad I
bought it. Every time I wonder if I can coordinate some pieces of
equipment, I look at the built-in options and find that it's already
there, just waiting for me to specify what I want. It is very easy to
program.

The usual disclaimer: I have no financial interest in Wadsworth or any
of their products.
