I had asked for someone to correct me if I was wrong about repeat showing of
orchid flowers, and they did. ;^)
Apparently all orchids registered for an orchid show are considered
"screened" for AOS judging, and therefore are not technically eligible for
AOS judging for a following show, unless it is a sequential blooming orchid
that has produced fresh flowers, or a branching plant has produced new
flowers. So, flowers exhibited in one show, and "screened", must be labeled
"not for AOS judging" in a following show.
Of course, its not a perfect system, and mistakes occur. I've actually had
plants "marked" for AOS judging, but the plants were never pulled, and only
later was the mistake discovered.
In addition, I was informed of something I did not know, that an exhibitor
has the right to fill out an AOS judging registration form and place it in
the exhibit, thereby obligating the AOS judges to pull the plant for
judging.
