A note of thanks to John Stanley [UK] for providing the reference to the book about the glass flowers at Harvard.
*************** In a private e-mail, another colleague indicates that the species depicted on the page : http://media.npr.org/programs/atc/features/2007/jun/glassart/orchid_540.jpg is not Rhynchostele rossii (Lindl.) Soto Arenas and Salazar as stated in the caption at : http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=11363926 He suggests that the species is Rhycholaelia glauca [Rhyncholaelia glauca (Lindl.) Schltr.]. *************** Rhynchostele rossii occurs in a white form. Do you believe that the glass depiction illustrates another species ? *************** Regards, Viateur _______________________________________________ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) [email protected] http://orchidguide.com/mailman/listinfo/orchids_orchidguide.com
