Oh Noble Scholars, Once more I come to you to ask for your help in identifying a particular species of orchid.
I borrowed this plant from the Dept. of Biology greenhouse at the University of Washington to paint. The orchid is labeled 'Gongora species'. I have painted it and placed it on my website in hopes Of finding someone who is knowledgeable in Gongora species. If you are the first one to come up with a name and argument that is agreed upon, I will send you a print of your choosing from my website free of charge. While I have your attention, I would also like to announce an upcoming exhibit of my work to be held at the Headquarters of the American Orchid Society in Del Ray Beach, Florida. It runs from November 26th Through December 30th of this year. The exhibit will be on display in the American Orchid Society Atrium. The exhibit is open free to the public Tuesday through Sunday 10am-4:30pm. I will have approximately 50 paintings, Most of which are from the collection of paintings of the collection of orchids from the University of Washington. At the end of the show, many of the paintings will be for sale. Go to: http://orchidpainter.com/mysteryplant.htm to see images of the Gongora.
