What a frustration when you can't ID your orchd! For me if it is a hybrid, it goes off to the raffle table. But that is rare now. I have continued to use pencil (HB lead if handy) on a stake type tag. But those do fall out. I also double tag with a flexible strap type around the pseudobulb or attached to the mount. For some reason I used the Sharpie Industrial fine point marker on these strap tags, maybe because it is more legible. Four years later the marker has not faded. It is rated to remain permanent in chemical washes, extreme heat and steam to 500 degrees. I find them at 'Staples'. Here's another tip that I just learened from Arlene in Charleston. One used (or new) window mini blind (venetian type)can be used for a lifetime of orchid tags. They are made of material resistant to UV and you can cut them to the size you like. Lee
