In particular our Native Sarcochilus Orchid Merimbula and its golden beaches on the far south coast of NSW is a mecca for tourists in spring/summer. The show an added bonus. Cheerio Ron Boyd ""Orchid show THE Sapphire Coast Orchid Club will hold its Australian Native Orchid Show at Twyford Hall, Merimbula, on Friday and Saturday, November 2 and 3. The orchids will be on show from 10am to 5pm Friday and 9am to 3pm Saturday. The show will feature Australian native orchids, including many dainty Sarcochilus orchids that are rarely seen in their wild state. While their flowers are small, up to 3 cm, they are displayed in profusion. Careful breeding has extended their colour range from pure crystalline white, through yellows to pinks and reds with combinations of all of these as spots or stripes. Because they flower at this time of the year they seldom make the regular show bench, making this show a unique opportunity to see these beautiful flowers in mass.
