Not adding much to the help so far offered but in Jay Pfahl's site he notes 
that Ward was "an English orchid Enthusiast 1800s" which could mean that he 
wasn't a professional and maybe not someone whose name is likely to be found in 
publications. In other words, not a big orchid name (?) Jay Pfahl doesn't quote 
his source but maybe a quey to him might help.
