For John Waddington, who asked about the identity of ³Ward² for whom the species name of Stanhopea wardii was given (OGD Vol. 9 Issue 343):
It is difficult to find much at all, and Mario Blanco already provided the location of the original description. However, in Jay Pfahl¹s Orchid Species Encyclopedia, he notes that the common name is Ward¹s Stanhopea, and that Ward was an English orchid enthusiast in the 1800s.
