Gordon has been growing orchids as a hobby for about 30 years...

Janet worked as an official photographer for various orchid shows in 
Edmonton in the late 1990s and at the World Orchid Congress in Vancouver in 
1999.

Gordon... has more than a dozen hybrids registered with the society [Royal 
Horticultural Society].

There are 26 indigenous wild orchids in Alberta...

About 80 orchid species grow in Canada...

Canada Post chose four Canada-bred hybrid orchids for its stamp designs 
based on their variation in shape, size and colour, as well as the region 
in Canada where they are grown. Each stamp was illustrated by Montreal 
artist Sigmond Pifko to show a front view and a profile of the flowers.
