This part of Colombia is the rainiest spot in the world, contributing to the volume of water of the most powerful river in south America, the Atrato river which spills its waters in the Darien Gulf, while at the same time providing "el Parque Nacional de las Orquideas" with excellent watering for its plants, where up to 300 different species have been found living in the same tree.
