I was amazed that the flamingos stayed in the opening display at WOC and had a chance to talk to the bird-keeper that was there while the live birds were on display. He said that they like the natural 'wall' created by the greenery-their natural instinct was to stay near the wall-and that as long as people were out front (which was ALWAYS the case) they'd pretty much stay in there on their own accord. Some of the props/plants in the display were also in their habitat for quite some time to add to their comfort zone.
We had expected them to peck at the phal's in the display-didn't seem to have any interest in the blooms. Harold Koopowitz was on my judging team and observed that the Paph Micheal Koopowitz was absolutely amazing.there isn't much more to add to that! It was stunning. _______________________________________________ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) [email protected] http://orchidguide.com/mailman/listinfo/orchids_orchidguide.com
