I can't tell you about the states you mentioned. I have been told that in 
Canada, it was first found in Quebec, where it is now an invasive pest. I also 
understand that in the US, it first appeared in Onondaga County (Syracuse) in 
1897. It is not a pest here. It pops up here & there without rhyme or reason, 
but you can't dig it up & transplant it.
