Epipactis is common here around the west end of Lake Ontario. It pops up in my lawn, but prefers my wife's herb garden and the numerous Hostas around the edge of my wooded lot. The Ontario Department of Agriculture has designated it as a noxious weed. It annoys would be "English" gardiners who manicure extensive lawns.
