"BECKY JOLLY-WOOD President of the Gulf Coast Orchid Society
...
I called the American Orchid Society in Florida. They... told me to call Jo
Ann Vaz... the contact person in this region.
... She was friendly, informative and invited me to the orchid society
meetings...

At the meetings, I found a group of warm, friendly people who were talking
and showing orchids. In a matter of minutes, I knew some of the members'
purpose in life was to grow orchids, but others were not as intense. They
just liked the flowers.

I was given information flyers, and learned that they had a library full of
orchid books I could borrow. Best of all, I was given friendship that has
lasted for four years now.
...
The Gulf Coast Orchid Society meets... on the second Sunday of each month...
The group offers many benefits for the orchid community, including
informative talks on orchid culture and other topics of interest for the
new grower and the experienced veteran."
