Wayne,
Carlos Fighetti, Greg Allikas and I were talking about this plant last night!

I think you must be referring to Den. speciosum var. hillii 'Don Brown' CCM/AOS
which received a 99 pt. CCM in 1998 at the Santa Barbara Orchid Show. The award
number is 19980354, Don Brown was the exhibitor and Richard Clark the
photographer. This incredible specimen plant had "approximately 100,000
flowers". I remember an article in Orchids magazine, describing how this
humungous plant was transported to the show for judging.

Pam Giust, the AOS awards registrar, [EMAIL PROTECTED], can give you
information on how to contact the photographer for permission to use his photo
of the plant.

Hi All
Some time back I remember seeing a photo from New York of a giant Dendrobium
speciosum.
I am currently here in Australia compiling a collection of photographs to
accompany an article on the subject and was wondering can anyone put me in
touch with the owner .
Hopefully he may be able to supply me a Tiff format photo to go with the
article.
This magnificent orchid can grow to gargantuan sizes in cultivation and produce
arguably the most spectacular displays.
The article will be titles "The World's largest Cultivated Blooming Dendrobium
speciosum."
Kind Regards,
