Nina, Trichopilia suavis - lives in he shade in cloud forrests likes moist and even wet for most of the year, but has a distinct dry season, 1-5 months! I grow it in all kind of different media, the best 2 is most covered hanging baskets, keep it damp, but I also grew it well in platic pots charcol, lava rock peat/perlite, & keep it most. As far as a cross I would try it with anything in the oncidium alliance, and see if it "sticks". let me know how it goes, I am a big trich fan and grower.
