Hi all. Thanks to those who expressed concern at using Kocide 101 on different orchid species and its effects on them I read an article in a American Phalaenopsis publication about the use of Kocide 101 in controlling pseudomonas (I.E. crown rot and on leaves of Phallies). Being new to growing these orchids, I was looking at a rather non toxic chemical to use as a preventive use for these problems and was recommended Kocide 101 ( I know about the use of copper sprays and their effects if in-proper safety gear is used) Having never use it before, I was interested in brand names used in Australia.
If their is a more safer chemical to control these types of problems in Phalaenopsis I would be very interested in giving it a go. I have been growing Phallies for about 2 years and so far never had any problems but am increasing the numbers grown and do not want a disaster to happen.
