I do not grow that species but found the following info :

"we... reached 5,000 feet, where a cool, moist wind continually blows on 
the exposed sides of the cliffs and rocks, on the tops of which I found... 
Scuticaria irwiana growing... among masses of spongy, grey lichen. In 
nature Scuticaria irwiana flowers in October to November."
