Reading Dr. Oakeley's new book, "Lycaste Ida and Anguloa. The Essential
Guide" he states that:

...it lasts in flower for three weeks in May-June in cultivation,
having up to 13 scapes which usually carry a single flower, but not
infrequently two."

I have 120 Anguloa clowesii and, in ten years, I have only had twice a  
double flower per scape.
