The highly-unusual site... next to a car park, contains bee orchids and 
common spotted orchids.

Local naturalist Brian Gough said: "Normally you would travel into the 
Dales to see this sort of thing.

for them to grow.
"You would never think a flower of such beauty could grow in such a barren 
area. It's a nice find."

the owners of the car park imported some limestone chippings for the car 
park - providing a perfect environment for bee orchids to grow.

Because the plant self-pollinates, there are now about ten or 12 specimens 
along the verge."
