"Orchids... medium breaks down relatively quickly, so keep your orchids
healthy and floriferous by repotting every year.

The best time to repot is right after your orchid stops blooming, or
in the case of the constantly blooming Phalaenopsis, when the exposed root
ends turn green, immediately after... blooming phase ends.

Match the grade of the bark medium to the size of your orchid's roots,
using the finest for orchids with small, thin roots, medium for
average-size, and coarse for ones with thick roots.

Choose a pot big enough so the roots can fit in the pot without crimping,
but if your orchid has roots that hang over the edge, it's an epiphytic
variety, and it's fine to leave several roots outside of the pot.

Nothing kills an orchid faster than allowing it to wobble in its container,
so stake the plant to provide support until it grows enough roots to hold
itself steady.

Water thoroughly right after repotting.
Mist twice a day and water moderately until you see new growth begin.
At that point resume your regular watering and fertilizing schedule"
