In OGD V10 #236, Robert Riefer said "Such an archane and absurd idea would have been laid to rest in museums and repeats of "Antiques Roadshow" if it were not the state sponsored religion in the United
States: taught in the public school system as early as kindergarten. Its name is The Theory of Evolution." Then Peter O'Byrne said: Robert, aren't you over-generalising just a little bit ? I was under the impression that 40% of US States promoted public-school teaching of a truly primitive and arcane system which is known by various euphemisms, eg "Intelligent (sic) Design". I was trying to figure how to phrase a retort to R. Riefer's absurd statement or to just simply ignore it. If I answer then it's bound to start a flaming war. And if I don't then it's obvious people probably agree ( are on the edge, or don't care). I won't say anything further than "Cheers, O'Byrne."
