I  actually enjoy all  the name changes in orchids..rather than be upset, I 
found the idea of lumping Laelia into Sophronitis quite amusing...and I 
didn't think it was ridiculous at all...now its all Cattleya? Great...makes 
even more sense. I do not agree that these changes are of major concern for 
most growers. I haven't changed any names on my tags (granted, I have mostly 
paphs anyway...), and the last I have seen, all the catalogs are still 
selling their plants under the usual names...I have yet to see Laelia 
purpurata sold as Sophronitis purpurata....and I somehow doubt that next 
year I'll see it sold as Cattleya purpurata. Take care, Eric Muehlbauer in

makes a perfect commode......
