......Ecology & Conservation, HA, the wild orchids are disappearing from their
habitat quicker than it takes to send an e-mail.
Describing NEW species, I'm all for that OR if there is a distinct problem with
a desciption ie the reclassification of Paphiopedilums from Cypripediums.
Consensus between Taxonomists, no-one will live long enough to see that.

....Most growers have a way of dealing with them, they ignor them !!!
And as someone said earlier in this forum, keeping your name tags with the
latest name changes will not make you a better grower.
....No it doesn't but it just confuses every orchid grower around the world.
...And refering to Erics note below, He has it right, its a comedy act fit for
Broadway.

.and I somehow doubt that next year I'll see it sold as Cattleya purpurata.
Eric, this last line is about to be correct. The latest word from the RHS is
that it will be Cat. purpurata.. with possibly one or two of the other formaer
Laelia / Sophronitis changing over to Cat' as well.
