Gentle OGDers, Bouncing off the ongoing topic of orchd nomenclatural changes and the need to update one's nametags, let me ask about plastic labels...
Now that in the US, vinyl labels with UV retardant are essentially a thing of the past, we are having to cast about for alternate labeling options that will provide a permanent record of the plant name, unlike the new plactics that now shatter after about two years, causing the loss of the orchid name. I still vastly prefer vinyl labels and have a couple hundred left which I am hoarding, plus I am now erasing any of my older ones to reuse. With that in mind I'd like to ask the list whether they know of any sources in the US, Latin America, or elsewhere that one can obtain vinyl labels that are manufactured containing UV retardant. I would be willing to import some just to have peace of mind that my orchid's name isn't lost when I next repot it due to the label disintegrating as I try to pull it from the pot. Yellow (or white) labels would be my preference, if there be a choice. Any info, however, will be appreciated.
