Peter, While I agree with your observation, I've always felt it appropriate to at least offer to purchase anything from someone if the object obtained by you will enable you to make money. I.E. if you need pollen to make a new cross that you're going to sell, you recognize that and offer something to the person.
Now I'll be the first to admit I have no idea how the hybridizer community handles this - I only know that I occasionally hear people make offhand remarks at shows about making sure nefarious people don't remove pollinia from blooms. -Eric in SF www.orchidphotos.org ------------------------------ Kathy, I'm mighty relieved to hear that. Your post made me think the last vestiges of the free world (phrase not meant in the US-Republican sense) had finally succumbed to rampant commercialism. _______________________________________________ the OrchidGuide Digest (OGD) orchids@orchidguide.com http://orchidguide.com/mailman/listinfo/orchids_orchidguide.com
