Hi all,

Hope you're all well, and happy new year!

A journalist called Ruth Evans from the BBC has been in touch about a
possible radio piece about the Golden Eye 'speculative invoicing' case.
(This is the case we
intervened<https://www.openrightsgroup.org/blog/2012/org-goldeneye-intervene>just
over a year ago).

She's doing background research at the moment and deciding whether there's
a story to pursue about what has happened to those who have received
letters from Golden Eye International. If you or anyone you know has
received such letters, she would be interested in speaking to you. She
asked me to pass on this description of what she's doing and what she's
looking for:

I work on the BBC radio programme *5 live Investigates* and I am looking to
do something on Golden Eye International – this will probably sometime in
February. The programme goes out (live) on Sundays between 11am and 12noon,
on BBC Radio 5 live.

I’d be very grateful if you could ask your ORG contacts if they have come
across anyone who has received letters from Golden Eye recently. I’d just
like to speak to them for research in the first instance- this could be off
the record if need be. Please could you ask anyone who might be interested
to call me on 0161 335 6450.

I’m particularly keen to speak to people who have clear evidence of their
innocence (eg they were away at the time of the alleged infringement), and
anyone who has received several letters with increasing allegations. I am
also keen to speak to people who paid the settlement amount even if they
were completely innocent – perhaps for fear of being taken to court or to
resolve the matter quickly.

If you think you can help her, do get in touch on the number she provides
above.

Thanks!

Pete
