Try to change this config:
com.orientechnologies.orient.core.config.OGlobalConfiguration#CLIENT_CHANNEL_MAX_POOL

E.g. add following code to your client code (not the server .xml):
OGlobalConfiguration.CLIENT_CHANNEL_MAX_POOL.setValue(1000)
