Hi Mike, How do you kill OrientDB? Are you using the bin/shutdown.sh command? Or even "kill -1 <pid>" ?
Do you have logs of the crashed server? Without logs it's hard to guess what happened, crashes are usually due by wrong memory configuration. How much RAM do you have on your machine?
