Hi Luca, Terminal is rather slow in IO, so not a good choice for running databases in general.
Terminal is a great option for trying out software, though: What makes terminal interesting is the easy VM sharing with zero scripting. You principally set up a machine for yourself, then you make a snapshot and click share! Also, you can pause the machine anytime you want and then come back to it when you like...
