I thought the use of clusters is exactly what makes it scalable. What is 
limiting is the 32k limit on the number of clusters. Still, that is a huge 
amount. 

As for the tutorial, what I don't understand is the calling of messages 
through the base class. In a distributed database (where clusters are 
spread all over different nodes, correct?) this would mean a scatter gather 
approach, which I would think would be slower, than just diving in for the 
specific chat rooms the user is actually active in.

I don't know. I am learning all this stuff too. LOL!
