Hi guys, Yesterday we released OrientDB 2.1-rc5 <http://orientdb.com/released-orientdb-2-1-rc5/>. This is the 5th Release Candidate before the official GA.
You could have noticed that the OrientDB factory improved the quality process in the last year. Below some points: - Added hundreds of new test cases - Improved the Continuos Integration by testing for compatibility between releases and drivers: http://helios.orientdb.com/ - Back-porting fixes. This generated many "hotfix" versions can be installed on Production environment. Last hotfix release is of few days ago only (2.0.12) and it's the 12th of 2.0 branch! - Much more time on testing a new release with multiple Release Candidate (RC) versions - New features are introduced at the beginning of a release, to have more time to test them and let to the users to do the same. During the RC process we don't add new features. About last point, thanks to all the contributors that patiently wait for the merge of new cool stuff in 2.2: https://github.com/orientechnologies/orientdb/pulls?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Apr+milestone%3A2.2 In the name of OrientDB Team, we appreciate you effort on contributing to OrientDB in any way, even by testing Release Candidates. This makes OrientDB more stable and produces GA releases of better quality.
