Hi Alessandro, thanks for your reply. My problem is not how to process the double quotes after the import, but the import itself. I guess your "var" field in the table is a STRING type, not an EMBEDDEDMAP, unless you found a way to import strings into EMBEDDEDMAP fields. I immediately get the specified error *cannot cast to java.util.Map* in my transformation process within the etl.
