One of most powerful feature of SQL are the so called "window analytical" 
functions. They let you do sophisticated aggregation without the tyranny of 
GROUP BY:

...With Java 8 streams, I had the itching that such window aggregations 
should be possible in Java directly. This way you do not have to build 
anything special in OrientDB itself, yet get powerful aggregations like a 
SQL Pro :-)
