I am normally a huge critic of, well, everything, but essentially now I
can go online and buy a single diagram, which is great (though I would
cut 75% of the text on most of the site pages and provide more direct
links to the downloads, but that's my web dev side talking).
And if I can't buy them myself because I'm unable or unwilling to pay
online, I can very easily arrange with a friend to make the purchase on
my behalf.
It's important to consider Voltaire, who said: "Le mieux est l'ennemi du
bien" - "The best is the enemy of the good." Don't let the quest for
perfection ruin a perfectly-usable, working system.
In this case, accept for now that this solution is GOOD, because it IS.
Consumers - don't go all angsty because it's not perfect or doesn't fit
the most convenient route for you. Do put your suggestions forth; my
experience shows that they are actually considered.
Creators - don't pull your models or refuse to participate solely on the
comments of a few people. They don't represent the majority, and others
who are respectful lose out on great designs. Plus, it strays into a
false dichotomy that makes it look like either people all remain silent
or they don't get anything from you. It's like punishing all the kids in
the classroom because a couple of them complained about an assignment.
