I'd expect David Lister to have the definitive answer.

I think that the "Hiden Senbazuru Orikata" is believed to be the oldest 
Japanese Origami book of Rokoan style connected cranes in 1797.

Google the phrase for lots of pictures of pages from the original book.

However, I believe that Papiroflexia and Origami were influenced from the 
Chinese origins around the same time, so I'd expect to see Spanish diagrams ( 
of the pajarita?) to be as old...  I don't know anything about Arab designs.
