Hi everyone,

here's some more goodness coming your way!

1. Instructional video for "Patty Bat" by Talo Kawasaki
With Halloween around the corner, I wanted to find a model that fits the
occasion. And I hope you'll be just as thrilled by Talo Kawasaki's "Patty
Bat" as I am. It's a superb action model, and simple enough to fold even
with beginners or children. Plus, the bat doesn't just flap, it also makes
some nice noise. If you've got a crowd folding the model and "patting" the
wings together you'll be surprised by the noise you'll be producing!
Special thanks goes to Talo for designing this wonderful model, as well as
allowing me to produce an instructional video on it.

By the way, I also found the time to add captions to the video, both in
English and German. To activate them check out the lower right corner of
the video player. There should be either a button with a box and two lines,
or a button that reads "CC" (for closed captions). Press on it and pick
your preferred language. (And if you want to help me out and translate the
captions to another language, do contact me!)

2. Paper review on kami by Ilan Garibi and Gadi Vishne
Ilan and Gadi have been diligently testing a new paper type again. And this
time it's the one paper probably most widely used in the community: kami!
In particular they tested the kami produced by Jong Ie Nara. To read how it
compares to superstar papers like Origamido or Elephant Hide, check out the
full article, either on happyfolding or in OrigamiUSA's The Fold:

Many thanks to Ilan and Gadi, who put great effort into this project, which
I believe has huge value to the community. Perhaps you also want to send
them a quick thank you, I'm sure they'd appreciate it. Their contact
details are [email protected] and [email protected]

All the best wishes, happy folding, and a very early happy Halloween,

-- Sara
