Once you have folded it you can see a diamond shape (valley folds) with the partial precrease (mountain fold) horizontally through it. You can then lightly do those folds in advance and the model collapses more easily. You do not want to take those diamond folds to a point. You may want to leave them apart at the ends to provide space for your fingers. Thank you, Doug Peterson
