Hello Origamigos! I'm putting together an exhibition with Paul Frasco at Kinokuniya bookstore in NYC during the OUSA convention. The exhibition is called Origami as Fine Art. Here is a brief description:
Creased, Inc., is proud to present an exhibition of Origami masterworks that highlight the evolution of Origami from a craft/hobby to a recognized art form. Origami as Fine Art features artists from around the world that challenge conventional images of origami by pushing the boundaries of technique and design. We have some wonderful amazing pieces from designers and also some archival pieces from the OrigamiUSA collection. We are now finalizing the details and the show and wanted to reach out to the community to ask for archival models that you may have to allow us to borrow for the exhibition. We have been trying to find models folded and created by Masters like Yoshizawa and Joisel. We are also open to suggestion you may have for other creators and pieces that would fall into the theme of the show. We would also welcome pieces from current creators. All of the models will be in protective cases and be well taken care of. We will pay for shipping and insurance of the models. We are also planning to put together an exhibition photo catalog with some diagrams. More on that later as we progress. Please email me privately at [email protected] if you are willing to help and let us borrow your archival models for the exhibition. Thanks so much! Happy Folding! -Sok [email protected]
