Dear Gerardo, not the thickness but the weight of the paper is measured in gram per square meter (gsm). The thickness is usually not displayed anywhere when you buy paper. Most of the time it correlates, that heavier paper is also thicker but not always. Some tracing paper for example can have very high gsm values like for example 120 gsm but is still as thin as tissue paper, whereas Lokta for example usually has a very low density, meaning it is rather thick but only a 40 gsm heavy. You might want to take a look at the paper reviews by Ilan Garibi and Gadi Vishne to get a feeling about the various aspects of paper: http://www.happyfolding.com/paper-reviews_introduction As far as I'm aware in the US paper weight is usually given in lbs whereas the rest of the world uses gsm. Nice Greetings Anna
