Hi, I just found Paper, An Elegy, by Ian Sansom (William Morrow, imprint of HarperCollins, 2012) in the Princeton Public Library.
I don't think this book has been mentioned on the list yet. I haven't read much yet, but so far I'm enjoying it a lot -- he's a very good writer. Sansom has lots of references to origami, but you'll have to read the whole thing to find them all -- there is a long bibliography, but no index. One chapter, "A Wonderful Mental and Physical Therapy," (pp147-166) is devoted to origami and kirigami and includes a lovely section on his own efforts at origami as a teenager, despite a lack of suitable paper. (Ignore the typo in his mention of pajaritas.) Karen Karen Reeds, co-ringleader, Princeton Public Library Origami Group. Affiliate of Origami USA, http://origamiusa.org/ We usually meet 2nd Wednesday of the month, 6:30-8pm, 3rd floor. Free! We provide paper! All welcome! (Kids under 8, please bring a grown-up.)
