I found scoring the creases helped a lot.  And fussing with each set of
creases: does the right side fit better under the left, or vice-verse,
as you collapse each of the 8 sets of creases.  Not to mention, until it
is complete, you may have to go back and refold things as you work around.

My first couple were great cat toys. ;-)  My friends marvel at my great
models.  They never see that the cat mafia "handles" my first attempts
and not so good later attempts. ;-)   Cats are great companions for
Origami folders.
