HI KATHY AND FELLOW FOLDERS,

Yesterday Kathy Knapp sent a message asking for chopstick rest models. Here
is my reply.

Maybe Diana sent you a private answer; there's no way I can know. In case
she didn't, here are some ideas for you and anyone else interested. You can
find in Origami Resource Center photo-diagrams for different chopstick
rests folded from the chopstick wrapper; I think those are traditional
models. You can also find a link to photo-diagrams of the one I created : )

This is the URL for the page in Origami Resource Center:
http://www.origami-resource-center.com/silly-origami-folds.html

The chopstick rests are the last links of the list.

Besides that, if you use Google and Google Images to look for some other
Origami Chopstick Rests (or Origami Hashioki), you'll find some other
ideas. Some are just photos but the models aren't taught through the web,
yet the knot -made from the wrapper- and the hand fan -folded from a
square- chosptick rests are very easy to figure out. If you use the search
engines for a little while, you'll find out how to fold a boat, fishbone,
rabbit, and cat chopstick rest. I don't want to fill this message with
links but they aren't that hard to find, ok?

Also, if you look for the paulchangdesign and as hashibukuroorigami
channels in YouTube, you'll find instructional videos for some very
original chopstick rest models*.* Hashibukuroorigami's videos seem to be
based in the following japanese book:
http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E3%81%8A%E3%81%A8%E3%81%AA%E3%81%AE%E7%AE%B8%E8%A2%8B%E3%81%8A%E3%82%8A%E3%81%8C%E3%81%BF-%E3%81%8A%E3%81%8B%E3%82%8F%E3%82%8A%E2%80%95%E8%B6%85%E3%82%A6%E3%82%B1%E3%82%8B-%E3%82%BB%E3%83%AC%E3%82%AF%E3%83%88BOOKS-%E3%81%97%E3%81%8C%E3%82%8A%E6%9C%97/dp/4072645265

I don't know japanese but I believe the videos are legal because he seems
to be promoting the book. Maybe the person in the videos is also the author
of the book... no idea. Anyway, the whole book seems to be about models
folded from chopstick wrappers but only a couple of them end up being
chopstick rests.

In Flickr you can find some really cool designs but you'll only find the
photos; the models aren't taught through the web. Look for Chopstick Holder
in the gallery of Won Seon Seo; look also for the gallery of nxnam318,
you'll find his among the top pictures.

That's it. Hope this helps : )
